Hi, my name is Magdalene Wangare. In 2018, after I watched a video of a girl who did laser and always had glasses on, I got intrigued and I decided that I am going to do laser. I started doing research on laser in Kenya and I decided to go on Google and decided to go for the doctors with the best reviews. This is how I came across Laser Eye Centre. It has a 4.2 rating. I decided to write a list and go to different appointments to different hospitals but when I got to Laser Eye Centre, I didn’t feel like I needed to go to any other hospital as I felt at home. They took me through the appointments where you have to make sure you qualify for laser. After that, it was established that I needed CTen which is less invasive. The procedure was then done. I have had glasses for 23 years ever since I was 8 and even after 3 weeks, my vision is better and I wasn’t even seeing what I was seeing with glasses on. The glasses were helping but it was 80%. Right now I am not at 100% but its better compared to what I was seeing with the best glasses. I would recommend Dr. Joshi, as he is the best so far, according to me.

Dr. Mukesh Joshi did my left eye cataract operation on Monday 23rd March 2020. He got rid of my reading number completely and gave me a bare minimum number for long distance sight. He also did a laser operation on my right eye cataract on Friday 13th March 2020. As a result, my long distance numbers became zero. My right eye cataract operation was done by two other surgeons a few years back. I was planning to have my left eye cataract operation done overseas. When I first found out that I had inherited Keratoconus from my mother I thought my life would be over. She had already had 2 corneal transplants hence I was certain I would have to do the same. However, when I came to see Dr. Joshi he told me that a new treatment called crosslinking was available and I was very excited. It was fast, easy and apart from minimal sensitivity to light, it was not obvious that I had undergone surgery. Dr. Joshi and his team are loving and amazing. My eyes are progressing very well and I look forward to undergoing cross-linking on my left eye. Thank you.

I was diagnosed with Keratoconus in Mumbai but at that time cross-linking was not available in India hence the doctor asked me to go back to Nairobi and consult Dr. Joshi. My niece Istahil, who is 14 years old, was diagnosed with Keratoconus. She lives in Somalia, where doctors could not offer any treatment for her condition. As a result, she was advised to visit India for further assistance. Just as I was preparing to take Istahil to India, I found out about Laser Eye Centre and Dr. Joshi. I had traveled to Kenya to arrange for my nieces visas to India and this is how I came to know about Dr. Joshi’s great work. My friends and family in Kenya suggested that I should seek Dr. Joshi’s opinion before taking Istahil to India. Fortunately, upon visiting Dr. Joshi, we established that he was able to treat Istahil’s Keratoconus at his eye centre in Kenya. This saved us the time and costs of travelling all the way to India. Dr. Joshi established that Istahil’s right eye was affected by Keratoconus which took away her vision by 65%. She had also lost vision on her left eye. Consequently, she underwent crosslinking on the right eye and a transplant on the left eye. Both procedures were successful and Istahil’s eye sight was restored. We are grateful for the service given to us by Dr. Joshi and his team at a very reasonable cost. I would recommend Dr. Joshi to anyone and I highly encourage everyone to visit Laser Eye Centre.

I realized that I was having problems with my left eye so I went to the opticians who recommended Dr. Joshi to me. When I came here, they quickly realized that the problem was Keratoconus and they started treatment immediately. I got cross linking and corneal regularization and everything was done very quickly. Hi, my name is Anne. I was initially diagnosed with Keratoconus in 2006 in the US. I then got Intacs placed on both eyes in 2008 and 2010. At that time, cross-linking was not available in the US so I did not get it. Initially, my eyes showed improvement but in a couple of years they started to degrade. I then sought different medical treatments from different doctors and tried different things like RGP lenses and scleral lenses. I moved back to Kenya in 2016 where I also sought different treatments from different doctors here with no success. In 2020, beginning of this year, I read about Dr. Joshi on Facebook from a friend. I made an appointment with him and on my first visit; he finally gave me the answers I have been looking for. He told me I needed corneal transplants in both eyes. He removed my Intacs on my right eye and did my corneal transplant on September 17th. It’s been a life changing experience and the best decision I’ve ever made. I can now see more than I ever saw or remember ever seeing in a long time. I am so abundantly grateful to Dr. Joshi and his team and I wish them all well.

I travelled to the USA a few months ago and visited an ophthalmologist who commented that the transplant had been done excellently.
